Today’s Healthy Holiday Tip…

Hosting a party?   Here is one of my favorite appetizers that is both healthy and tasty, not to mention extremely simply to make:

Fresh figs (or rehydrated dried figs- easy to do by soaking in water)

Raw, organic pecans

Organic (nitrate/nirate-free) prosciutto* (if you are vegetarian or don't eat pork- skip this part!)

Remove the stems of the figs.  Cut a small slit in each fig and stuff a pecan half in.  Wrap with a small, thin slice of prosciutto.   If making ahead, refrigerate, but allow 20' to sit at room temp before serving!

A great alternative to cheesy, creamy appetizer!
