Today’s Healthy Holiday Tip
Try a new twist on seasonal tastes… while I'm all for the occasional splurge, for all those other times when you're trying to choose healthier options, try your own take on a festive fave.
Instead of high-sugar canned cranberry sauce, make your own and use a hint of grated orange peel and some toasted, slivered almonds.
In lieu of apple pie, serve baked apples prepared in water, with a cinnamon stick and some raisins & raw walnuts on top.
Rather than high-fat, heavy-alcohol egg nog, sip one of the many Holiday Scented Teas.
Making choices like the above will allow room for the 'real' treat (if you even still want it!) on the next planned special occasion.
