Bad nutrition for your kids???

Don't use your kids as an excuse to buy junk food and keep it in the house!  I feel saddened when I do a kitchen clean out and find macaroni and cheese mixes, sugary, grain-based cereals and low quality, synthetic chocolate in a client's cupboard and their rationale is that it's OK, since it's for the kids!

Now- having been raised with a zero-sugar in the house rule, I know it's tough for a kid to have that sort of strict eating guideline imposed upon them, so I'm not suggesting you keep your kids from EVER having a treat, BUT- why not apply the same principals to your kids that you use for yourself?

Quality treats, on occasion, and keep it real!

That's easy!

On most nights, have fresh fruit and berries and herbal tea if you want something post-dinner.  Then, on occasion, have a small serving of REAL chocolate, or sorbet, or something else that is actually food!

Same goes for snacks and meals.  DON'T default to buying junky, processed foods for kids because A) there's a cartoon on the cover or B) you don't have "time' to cook!  Why would you want your kids to put corn syrup, hydrogenated oils or artificial anything in their little bodies?

Instead, start then off eating healthy at an early age and you'll set them up for a lifetime of better health and far less chances of developing many illnesses and diseases!  They'll fare better in school, in sports, in social situations- remember, it always comes back to nutrition and feeding your body real food!
