Back Where It All Started; A Talk for the Los Angeles Triathlon Club

In the year 2000, I joined a local triathlon club with a handful of members.   Very new to the sport, and only having completed a handful of sprint distance races, I joined to meet people to train with and to learn a thing or two (or a hundred) about what actually is involved in becoming a triathlete.

I received my membership card, ID # 19, and carried it proudly, happy to present it to local shops for discounts on tubes, gear and back then, a plethora of bars, powders and sports ‘nutrition’ mixes.

I met many amazing people; friends to train with, one of whom was Mr. Chris Stephenson.  Yes, I met my husband after a Sunday group swim in Manhattan Beach while we were wearing our Speedos…but that’s another story!

Twelve years and what feels like a lifetime of learning about the sport, (obviously) the nutrition and so many other factors that play a huge role in training and performance later, I’m happy to announce that I’ll be speaking to that very same group…which has now grown to have a membership in the thousands, the Los Angeles Triathlon Club.

On Monday, February 27th at 6:30 PM in Santa Monica (more details here), I’ll be discussing how Paleo eating  supports optimal health and has also proven to be the way to go, not only for myself, but for for many of my clients successes in endurance training and racing.

This lecture is open to everyone, regardless of whether you happen to be a member of the LA Tri Club or not.
